Found in the South of France, this 19th century French pewter soup carrier or pot à bouillion was originally used for enjoying soup away from home and keeping it warm, as we would use a Thermos today. There are two lids, which screw closed to keep the contents secure. The piece is marked on the bottom E.P.U, 118, Europe, Etain Zinn, 95.
