Found in the South of France, this Late 19th Century Buffet or Sideboard was crafted from walnut by French artisans in the late 1800’s. The piece has been taken back to its natural wood state and features a two plank banded side top resting above two hand dovetailed drawers. One drawer retains its original lock and key, although the drawer lock is not in working order and the second drawer presents a patinated brass pull. Below the drawers are two doors that open to reveal one shelf for ample storage. A newer latch and working locking mechanism were installed on the two doors at some point in its lifetime. The front of this buffet is designed with hand carved reeded sides that flow to the front tapered feet. Being in its natural state, the walnut wood shows repairs that have been made to this piece through the years and only adds to its rustic charm.
