This Early 20th Century Orrington Hotel Silver Silverplate Tureen was crafted in the early 1900’s. The piece features an oval design with two scroll side handles. The tureen is hallmarked on the side with an emblem reading Orrington and on the bottom reading Reed & Barton, Silver Soldered, 2003E2, 8P, Orrington Hotel. Highly collectible, hotel silver is a very heavy silver plate, usually triple plated over another type of metal to make it durable for hotel and commercial use. This tureen with it’s classic shape has been used and loved through the years showing age, imperfections and a slightly uneven bottom which only adds to its charm and patina. Perfect for the Hotel Silver enthusiast or simply displayed in the kitchen as a vessel to hold fruit or flowers.
