Found in France, this early 20th Century Writing Desk was crafted from Walnut by French artisans in the early 1900’s in the grand Louis XVI style. The piece features a tooled red leather top bordered with brass. The leather does show light surface wear from years of use and only adds to its charm. Resting below the top are two hand dovetailed drawers that retain their original brass escutcheon plates and working locks. One key is available and operates both drawers. The back and sides are adorned with brass inlay which allows it to be easily floated in a room. The piece rest on four tapered and fluted legs exhibiting brass rings at the top and finished with brass sabots. This Early 20th Century French Louis XVI Style Walnut and Brass Leather Top Desk with its warm patina, aged leather and brass details will add a touch of French charm to all interior styles.
