This 20th Century English Walnut Metamorphic Library Steps Side Table dates back to the mid 1900’s. The piece features a dual-function design as both library steps and a compact coffee table or side table when folded down. Crafted in the English Georgian style the piece utilizes hinged wood frames that allow the upper steps to flip over onto the lowers ones, collapsing the entire vertical structure into a single flat-topped table. Each step is inlaid with gilt tooled leather. The leather shows very light surface marks which is typical for the age and this only adds to its charm.
