This 19th Century Monks Oil on Canvas Painting dates back to the 1800’s. The art dpects two monks or friars in a rustic setting, with one reading from a book. The piece is artist signed in the lower left corner and is illegible. Presented as found, the art shows no rips or tears and is housed in an antique rustic gold frame. The frame is stamped on the back “Nergaards Rammefabrik, Aalborg.”, which at one time was a frame factory located in the North Jutland region of Denmark.
