Found in the South of France, this 19th Century Louis XV Style Three Drawer Commode or Chest of Drawers was crafted from old growth walnut in the late 1800’s. The piece, in it’s natural finish, presents a three plank carved front top resting above three large deep drawers and stands on four carved legs. Each of the three drawers are hand dovetailed and retain their original brass pulls and key escutcheon plates. The top drawer shows the original locking mechanism as the two bottom drawers do not. There is no key available. The bottom apron features a curved intricate design characteristic of the Louis XV style. Pegged mortise and tenon joinery is evident throughout the casework, reinforcing the exceptional quality of this chest of drawers.
