This 19th Century French Louis XVI Commode is made of mahogany and oak. The piece is crafted with a marble top and pierced brass gallery. Presented as found, repairs to the marble have been during the lifetime of the piece. The chest of drawers features five drawers on three rows, three small ones on the first row then two larger ones below. The drawer fronts are framed in brass as well as the side panels. It rests on four turned feet with brass decoration. The drawer pulls and locks are original to the piece. There are five locks in total, all are in working condition. One “clover shaped” key is available.
