Found in the North of France, this one of a kind 18th Century Crescent Table and Two Benches where handcrafted from walnut for a Nunnery in the late 1700’s. The table, constructed in the shape of a crescent or slight curve, features a banded top resting above hand dovetailed drawers on each side. One side with six and the opposite side with five drawers. A portion of the drawers retain their wooden pulls while some have been removed or stubbed off during the course of time and this only adds to the charm of this old world piece. The table rest on four legs and are adjoined by end stretchers and a single curved middle stretcher. Each of the two curved benches were specifically crafted to comform with each side of the table and exhibit a curved center stretcher that adjoins three handcarved legs that have been finished with iron platfrom feet. Unique in style, this 18th Century French Walnut Crescent Table and Two Benches with their aged patina could serve as a dining table or large game table and will be a conversation piece when added to all interiors.
